I can’t recommend the Muse experience enough for a fun date, night out with your friends, family activity (Muse is kid friendly) or birthday party! Right now there’s just one Manhattan location in Tribeca, but there are actually a number of studios in the northeast. This includes paintings, sculptures, and more. Muse Paintbar combines painting instruction with a restaurant. I’m already looking forward to my next class! It was also a lot of fun to do with a big group of friends because no one really took it too seriously (well, maybe some 😛 ). I personally find painting to be so relaxing and such a stress reliever. You’re welcome to follow the steps (each class has it’s own theme with a different work of art that you recreate) or you can go totally rogue and paint whatever you want with no judgement. The class was totally reminiscent of the fun I had growing up going to art classes and pottery painting studios, just with an adult twist! I also really like that the experience isn’t too formal.

Muse has a fully stocked beer & wine bar – and the house made boozy punch is the true definition of liquid inspiration. You won’t need to BYO…anything to help you get those creative juices flowing. You won’t find more options, or variety of paint styles out there and with (literally) thousands of paintings to choose from there’s definitely a painting that will be perfect for your whole crew.

The artist gave us step by step instructions on how to do our painting, there was plenty of paint and supplies, aprons provided to keep clothes clean, etc. They also host private parties if you’re looking for something a little more VIP. The Muse Bar we visited was in the Mosaic district in Fairfax. Each month you pick from a curated event calendar filled with classic favorites, fun theme nights, and brand new seasonal paintings to choose from. A great option for date night, girls’ night, a birthday or bachelorette party, or a team building event…and absolutely NO art experience is required! They’ll show you step-by-step how to paint from mixing colors, to how to hold your brush, if there’s a trick for it they’ll show you how it’s done.
